The Four Tops/Temptations Show toured NZ in the late 70's/early 80's about the time the "Dunedin Sound" Bands were at their peak.

They played in Dunedin to not a large audience, but unfortunately there is a portion of the population that is just not interested in non-white artists.

I was interested to see a number of the young local musicans there to pay homage to the great vocal groups.

What a marvellous show it was,as they alternated in showcasing all those Motown Hits.

Holland-Dozier-Holland and the various musicans who operated out of the Brill Building are my favourite songwriters in the popular music field.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.
