Pete labled the 2004 lineup as a standout - has anyone have a list?

have a look at the archive page

http://www.bluesfest.com.au/pages/?ParentPageID=1&PageID=6#2004

and yes, it was a very good year

not sure if it was MY personal very best year - 1998 worked really well for me but still - not too shabby

I did not have a computer for my first Bluesfest in 2004,thus I wrote a 5 page letter congratulating the Directors on what I thought was an embarrassment of musical riches on offer.

Palidans with Bill Kirchen
Kenny Neal Band.
Solomon Burke Show.
Robben Ford Band
KayKay & The Rays.
James Brown Show.
Byron Blues Allstars.
Femi Kuti & The Positive Force
Pete Cornelius & The Devilles
J W Jones Blues Band
Max Merritt & The Meteors
Harry Manx
Frank Yamma & Piranpa
Johnny Green's Blues Cowboys
Shemekia Copland
Kelly Joe Phelps
Pharoah Saunders Quartet
Doctor John & The Lower 911
Eugene Hideaway Bridges

Were my acts of note.

There was some stuff I would have liked to catch but did not see due to the awesome lineup.

Taj Mahal Trio
Mavis Staples
T Model Ford & Robert Belfour
Chubby Rae & The Elevators
Fiona Boyes with Hubert Sumlin

Plus the fairly unknown North Mississippi Allstars...who played a corker of a show at The Metro in Sydney to less then 200 people....Sure was a lot of BLUES in 2004....
