No Sydney dates. Damn. Have to hope he takes up his rightful spot again on the bill at Easter time.

A couple of weeks back I had the pleasure of having a beer in Joes Wateringhole, in Eumundi.
To see the Hatz play in that environment would almost be worth the airfare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw him some years back in the back room at Thuinderbolt's Inn in Uralla. 25 people and possibly only one had come with the intention of hearing live music! Probably five were listening when, half way through the second set there was a black out. Unfazed Fitz played on, solo and acoustic-absolutely amazing. At one point my mate, the now redundant mixer, told his 12YO he was seeing something straight out of the 30s- next song? a Robert Johnson piece!

Scott, Newcastle's so close! I'll save you a seat.

In fact if you turn up and proudly declare "I'm Scott M, what are you going to do about it?", you will be granted free entry. (Only the first male doing this will recieve free entry).

True enough, and I do love the Gallipoli club in Hamilton up there.

But I need the previous Friday off work to head to Vic for the Golden Plains fest, so the chances of Friday the 12th off are very slim. Which would mean a 2am return to the city. And would also mean no beers at a Hat Fitz show.

I will keep that declaration up my sleeve though - bound to work at any number of shows, retail vendors and police stations......

I'd think the Newcastle show should be done by about 10.30 if that makes any difference.

If not, then just as a special favour to Scott, I have used one of my three remaining wishes in this life to secure a Sydney show - Tuesday March 16 Old Fitzroy Hotel Woolloomooloo, 8pm. Last Sydney show till November.

It's a little known fact that if you tug Fitz's beard three times in quick succession he has to grant you one wish. You have to do it quickly though as he can get a bit cranky.

My Hat Fitz story is that we had to delay our wedding ceremony due to his loud set at Saturday's BF last year...but it was worth it!

See you at the Gallipoli

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen
