I had a very late night chat to Suzie (Dylan's PA)last night.
She is in Bournemouth.Dylan had just finished a show there.
There are very high level talks taking place which could see Bob Dylan play Bluesfest exclusively for 5 days next year.
The concept is 5 decades in 5 days.one decade per show.
Suzie said Dylan likes the idea however is still being slightly enigmatic. (Typical Bobby-she said)
This could also be his farewell visit to Australia.
According to Suzie, Dylan loves the Byron shire-it reminds him of Santa Monica.
She also said,Dylan is very keen to mix up his set times. He apparently prefers early afternoons.
This may also explain the ticket price rises.
Once announced, the festival will surely sell out.
Stay tuned.

When they go low-we go high.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole of Joan Osborne's exclusively Dylan covers set on the 2x's I saw her at BF17. Which makes Dylan's latest 3 album offering, Triplicate, where he plays 30 covers of other great songwriter's American classics a touch of genius. Its pace is folky. I s'pose when you are in the " September of My years" (track 2) you can do anything you choose.
If identifying what Dylan plays live was difficult when playing his own songs, it'll be a challenge when plays covers!

Tho the Hurricane, that Idiot Wind may bring A Hard Rains A-gonna Fall
Not the Dirge or the Forgetful Heart
No Masters of WarISIS, who may lay a Desolation Row, a Dirt Road Blues if you will
No Early Roman Kings or the Gates Eden

NoThunder on the Mountain, nor any Simple Twist of Fate
Even being Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again, certainly not this Political World
Even when John Wesley Harding and I ,Are Knocking on Heaven’s Door, we may be pushing One Too Many Mornings, I may be Only a Pawn In Their Political Game, and Life Is Hard

If I must write Dear Landlord, I’m like the Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands as I have no rent for Seven Days
With God on Our Side,The Man In Me will overcome The Day Of The Locusts, Tempest and Every Grain Of Sand, that may be Blowin In The Wind

Should there only be Catfish and One More Cup Of Coffee
Can’t Wait till I hear the Chimes Of Freedom
Heading out for the East Coast , Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, Tangled up in blues

Am I missing the joke?!?!?

What decade do the last three records fall under?
Strictly speaking he could do ten decades in ten days if he starts
with American songbook songs from the 1920s through to Tempest from the 2010s!
After releasing a triple album it seems anything is possible with him!

Dear Andrew
I assure you there is no room in my life for frivolity.
Suzie said that Mr Dylan is likely to do the following.
Night 1- the sixties
Etc etc.
The last three recordings won't be played.
Hence the five decades in five nights .

When they go low-we go high.

This would be amazing!!!!!!
I'll be there for every set if it happens

The 90s would be interesting: the two great folk covers LPs: good as I been to you and world gone wrong and time out of mind
I assume he'd ignore under the red sky: his only real stinker from the last 30 Years (although I've never heard the Xmas Lp!!!)

I've personally put requests to Mr Dylan for
1. Man in a long black coat
2.ring them bells
3.political world
4.gotta serve somebody
5.change my way of thinking
Forget the xmas albums he won't touch this.

When they go low-we go high.

Wow great choices

Yeah oh mercy is pretty unbeatable
Love the chapter in Chronicles that covers the recording sessions

Slow train coming for me is a favourite too - his band really cooks on that album (Pops Staples does a
Nice cover of gotta serve somebody on his final album)

No. Under The Red Sky is amazing. His best album since Blood On The Tracks, along with Love and Theft.

I love this about Dylan everytime you dismiss one of his albums someone steps defending it as a classic

I'll go back and give it another go!!

Is this a scam to sell more tickets, I just can't see Bob Dylan agreeing to anything like this?

Not mine and I even remember it being a cold, wet, windy day which made matters worse as people were shoving themselves into an already over-crowded tent only to be disappointed. Think I stayed maybe 10 minutes and went to see Grace Jones instead.

That's a new one
And also very offensive to the good folk at bluesfest.
