So you don't like Jimmy Buffett. Just too bloody bad. You weren't at his concert so you didn't hear him say he was going to do 2 sets next year. I hear that they are going to be 3 hour sets so get used to the fact of seeing a few parrot heads around the place. With a bit of luck he may do a Dylan and do 5 days. A decade a show for 5 days. Yes he has been around that long. I have a great idea for next year. When Jimmy is playing we have a tribute band playing in each tent at the same time so that no one misses out on the experience. Now wouldn't that be great. Would be a great learning experience for all the non believers.

First clip is the kinda doing a song , normal, second is using Abba's Dancing Queen to a live audience with comedy, third is beyond clever he is in a country bar, and gets the band to play Johhny's Cash's Folsom Prison and sings the Who's Pinball wyzzard

Damien Dempsey has a new album "Soulsun" out later this year, would love to see him return to Bluesfest next year.

For 2018 - I'll keep it fairly short

Blues

Gary Clarke Jr
Benjamin Booker

Punk Blues

Nick Cave and Badseeds (with a set by Grinderman)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (maybe with a couple of sets one of which would be to play Howl

Folk

Richard Thompson ( I know he has appeared in the past but not in the last few years)

Yes indeed.
As would the western swing version of the much performed blues song.

That CD/DVD of Wynton and Eric (with a guest spot with the Taj) is a little package of joy!! Sadly, I doubt very much we'll ever see Wynton Marsalis at bluesfest.
