Blood Sweat & Tears are running thin on original members but play with the concept that you came to hear the music you remember and that is what they play.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Yeah I'm with you Waffles this would be fantastic at BF. Then again I'd go to watch Chris Cheney open an envelope. How about the Living End instead of the Oils or put them on as a double header on Sunday avo in the beer garden at Crossroads. on on Spanner

sorry to say but there is zero chance of black country communion or any other joe bonamassa related set due to bonamassa having a run of shows already booked in germany over the easter weekend, i looked a while back on his tour page to see if he could make it & was disappointed to see it was a no go so hopefully they will tour later in 2018.

Ok it will have to be Kate Miller-Heidke back at Bluesfest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIlq1AZUFCk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Would really love to see Natalie Merchant and/or Hope Sandoval added.
I think a bigger headline act for Saturday is needed too, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Stevie Wonder or Dolly Parton would be excellent.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF72XOj293gSaturday's Headline Act for me. Not that I need a "Headline" Act." "Headline" Acts are there to attract the masses, the ones that listen to the mind dumbing stuff that is commercial radio, where they play the same small number of tracks over and over again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." I'm sure that there's yet to be at least one more draw act to be announced. Pity that BCC couldn't be secured or the Pixies but then I do recall admin advising me that neither of these acts were active when the former had just announced a new album and the latter European dates lol. Jeff Lynne's ELO would be awesome - and they have a Glastonbury appearance behind them so a festival setting is not out of the question. Lynyrd Skynyrd ? Although I expect the prospect of 'Sweet Home Alabama' and the confederate flag on display would provoke a need for safe spaces around the site. Personally I'm looking for an announcement that is primarily blues orientated - Joanne Shaw Taylor, Supersonic Blues Machine, Erja Lyytinen, King King, Chris Stapleton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Otis Taylor, Blues Pills, Jo Harman, JJ Grey & Mofro and returns from Melody Angel, Lloyd Spiegel & Davy Knowles would do nicely thank you very much.

Davy Knowles and the band of friends (Rory Gallagher tribute) He was excellent this year and this current show would be spectacular. Melody and lloyd also.
When they go low-we go high.

Sadly the dates on Davy Knowles website suggest no chance this year for the Rory tribute with gigs in the US starting April 5 following solo tour ending 31 March. Goes to top of my list for 2019 however!

I haven't listened to radio in over a decade and for some reason I seem to be a bee in your bonnet... sorry for having a say or an opinion on a public forum. The title of this thread is suggestions for 2018... all I did was suggest some acts.

Don't worry about the self appointed cheerleader. He has alienated many people over the years.

I would love to see some more bands from New Orleans especially ‘Bonerama’ being named after their trombone (bone) playing. They are high energy and would get a good response from the crowd. They have a new album out now called ‘Hot Like Fire’. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=TNExHLED1QY

He has alienated many people over the years. It is pointless asking for acts which have a Zero Chance of playing Bluesfest. I might add Adele,Ed Sheeran,Pink & Bruno Mars. Better to live in the real world and be positive about what Bluesfest has to offer and has offered over more than 25 years. Not all of us can afford in terms of financial affordability or work committments to travel to the other hemisphere on a regular basis as you can,if at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable."
