Of those mentioned above the one's whom I remember playing at Bluesfest are Pokey LaFarge, Jimmie Vaughan, Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Galactic and Earth, Wind and Fire. Would be great to have any or all of them back next year. I'd love to see any or all of the others too.

A couple out of left field (and I don't even know if both and/or either of them is still actively playing and touring) would be George Benson and Jose Feliciano. Can't remember either of them ever being at Bluesfest.

And a guy who was at Bluesfest a long time whom I'd love to see return is Georgie Fame. The last time I saw him he'd put together a red hot band of top Australian musos and they were appearing as Georgie Fame and the Aussie Blue Flames.

And a couple of years ago at the Noosa Jazz Festival I saw a brilliant performance from Darren Percival backed by the Cameron Doley Group (featuring James Greening on trombone and pocket trumpet and Matt Ottignon on saxophones) doing the music of Ray Charles. They'd be an absolute knock out at Bluesfest. And just for a bit more nostalgia how about Australia's greatest ever male soul and rhythm and blues singer, the legendary Doug Parkinson? I know Cameron Doley has been at Bluesfest many times, mainly in the backing band for other performers such as Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges but also appearing with his brother and fellow keyboards maestro Lachy in The Hands (such a clever name poking a bit of fun at the legendary Australian improvisational jazz band The Necks) but I don't remember either Darren or Doug ever playing at Bluesfest.

And if Peter Noble really wanted to stick his neck out (pun intended), he could bring The Necks to Bluesfest!!

If Peter Noble can get these folks there ... where's my wallet!
Saw The Pretenders a few years ago, in concert they're just so good.
And a few years ago now I saw Emmylou in concert with Buddy Miller, out-of-this-world.
My number one country star.

It would be nice to think Peter Noble or one of his people would troll thru the discussions for ideas.
Yep to Ana Popovic.
Had to look Blood Orange up, because there once was an alt country group called Blood Oranges.
The problem with the ideas being put up (yes I started it), is I might end up spending even more on my music collection!

Hi All,

Was our first EVER Bluesfest - loved it!!!!

Dreams for 2018 = (Based on variety of 2017 offered) =

Melbourne Ska Orchestra -

Been a nutty Madness fan since 1980 - seeing them this year was a dream come true! These guys are a local gift and talent - HAPPINESS with every toon! Loooots of horns and awesome interpretations of songs we all know! :)

Jamiroquai -

Cos when we feel blue and in a funk - he can make it better :)

Incognito -

One of the most amazing live acts I've ever had the privilege of seeing - even if there are 287 of them on stage - they remain as tight as a snare drums skin.....

Erykah Badu -

A fusion of Billie Holiday/soul/groove/jazz/modern blues.... Yum.

Janelle Monae -

LOVED Laura Mvula - awesome sets and energy..... I Love Janelle too - old school with new twists - happies!

VV Brown -

Another smooth groover with roots waaaaay back :)

Cee-Lo Green -

Caramel in the ear bits :)

Eliza Neals -

The girl grooooowls and grits - Melody and her need to jam :)

Jon Bonamassa -

He holds his Gibson likke BB King loved Lucille. Please :)

Janiva Magness -

Soooooooul blues - she's lived it. Sigh.......

Roachford -

Only to be With You - a few thousand other like-minded music addicts :)

Jill Scott -

RnB guts and soul :)

Some dreams....... Will sort how to hyperlink after I post mates :)

Jon Bonamassa and Beth Hart?
I've seen both Beth Hart and Grace Potter at the fest.
Both started with small crowds, but they grew!
I reckon Dana Fuchs would be the same. All 3 leave the stage having given their all.
