One unfortunate side effect of eight years of Barrack Obama in the Whitehouse is protest singers didn't have much to protest about. Michael Franti has been singing about love, peace and yoga for years. Steve Earle mellowed in his old age, briefly, but he came good when he got divorced again and got angry. Bruce has always been political, but he has been pretty quiet lately. How good are these writers when they get angry? Billy Bragg will spend 40 minutes of his 45 minute set at Bluesfest banging on about Trump. As long as we get "Waiting for the great leap forward", I don't care. Billy Bragg's next album will be a cracker. Ditto for Steve Earle.

The world might be doomed, but it will be an interesting few years for music.

I expect Angry Anderson will have yet another stratospheric leap in his already illustrious career.

When they go low-we go high.

It is logical to assume that there is a direct correlation between Neil Young cancelling his 2017 tour down under, and the election success of Donald Trump.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

He's got form in regard to cancelling tours.
He cancelled the 2nd leg of the Buffalo Springfield reformation tour at the last minute and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
