Just wait. Jimmy Buffet will bring the house down.

Won't be able to stop smiling all night.

So....It is a X rated show.No wonder it is on last.

Some years ago,we had this band headline at our Saturday night small town country music festival.
The high point of the set was when one of them rode a motorbike into the stadium.
From there,it was all downhill.
I was sitting in the front row.
Alot of families in the audience & there are alot of churchy people in this area.
They started making crude comments & I felt embarassed given there were wholesome looking young teenage girls sitting in the same row.
I got up and left the venue.

Are they giving customers a straight answer when asked if Buffett is the replacement act for Neil Young?
I know of at least one occasion when they haven't.

I'm sorry i didn't ask them that question.
As you well know (much to the annoyance of a lot)
I'm more than happy with what's on offer so i didn't think to ask.
It's all good though isnt it?

When they go low-we go high.

Perhaps not if you're a Friday, single day ticket holder.
They only have a 7 day window to swap days or request a refund.
There appears to be some confusion as to whether or not that window has commenced.

I know several people in that number, and when I last heard from a couple of them, they were still waiting for a definitive answer RE the above.

And they are definitely not happy.

A few other new comers jumped in for 5 day tickets with a mooted 3 hour show from Neil as the main factor that got them over the line.

They are not excited about Jimmy Buffett, but obviously plan to enjoy the rest. But are disappointed, which is more than understandable, as they did not get early bird tickets.

Well you will be relieved to know that according to recent setlists, the chances of him performing that song are zero.

Looks like a super party - I'm guessing you'll be up in Sydney in March- I've gotten my tickets for Diamonds are for Trevor - Trev is doing Shirley's biggest hits with a 24 piece band at the opera house - will be amazing!! Buy now!!

I thought that was Liza Minelli at first..

The party at the Sydney showgrounds after the parade is the best part

A fat male welsh Liza Minnelli - Trev is awesome and she is the best tribute act in that genre I've seen - he really gives it 100% and her show is world renowned.

As for the ladyboy show it looks super but there's nothing like the real thing in bankok or even the up and coming grass roots scene in Rural Cambodia...

How many other tribute acts in that genre have you seen.

Hi All

In summary

1. I am happy with the artists so far ( as per Bucetti)
2. I fully appreciate the situation that Peter Noble and his team are at this late in the game
3. But, with no disrespect to his ardent fans, Jimmy Buffet is not an equivalent replacement amongst the punters.
4. Bluesfest may well have more artists to announce or otherwise understandably communicate to fans that they cannot replace the artists that have cancelled. It's not a sin, you have done a great job !
5. Just be upfront Bluesfest and do the best that you can. You always do and you are fantastic !

P.S. I doubt if Jimmy Buffet coud fill Jambalaya. No malice intended, it's just there's not enough audience here. Go see Dumpstaphunk !

My thoughts

Bet Jimmy fills what ever stage he plays on, I think you will be surprised, by the number of people who will attend.
When he played Brisbane a few years ago his concert sold out in minutes.

He may not be Neil Young, pretty sure he doesn't try to be, but he has an audience and they will be there.

So if he doesn't float your boat go see someone else and enjoy the festival.

This is without a doubt my favorite week of the year and would not miss it.

As always I thank Mr Noble and the team for putting together an amazing festival.Applause

Will I never know silence without mental violence?
