Saw Bruce twice at Hope Estate. The 2nd night was the greatest gig of my life! Amazing venue. Seeing him again there in Feb. The whole experience in the Hunter Valley is wonderful. Dont know about the other venues.

I think it's hope estate & bimbadgen, someone correct me if I've missed one. bruce was at hope estate, great show. I think the stones played here as well. i saw neil & crazy horse at bimbadgen last time, smaller than hope, maybe 5000 capacity? sensational show. leonard cohen did one here on his first tour back a few years ago, gobsmacking. great sound, not loud as the crowd was silent during all the music. incredible. except for the two chatting uk backpackers sitting behind me for a time. I suggested perhaps it would be better if they conducted their conversation elsewhere, which they did. They were harshing my mellow. The hide of them! both raked ampitheatre grassy hills, front seats expensive and squishy for the larger gent I'd recommend sitting on the grass with the plebs aside from the money. buses from local accom and to newcastle. they are all no byo, some no byo food however the resourceful person can circumvent such trivialities. Mostly older crowd so not invasive or super thorough searches in my experience. Not that I would engage in or endorse such behaviour. Some serious gouging on prices of very ordinary wine etc. I think Hope did camping in the last couple of years for thie multi day fest of cruddy commercial pop country. I camped in the van after neil young with no grief from security as you're parked away in the vineyards. traffic particularly on the way out can be a nightmare, I've got a bus a couple of times which was ok. hundreds of cars spilling out onto the same road after the show.

I like the fact our taste changes over time & sometime we stick with the same taste. Also the fact we don't all share the same taste in music is a good thing as it adds variety. If we were all to have the same taste in things it would become boring. The fact we like both different music styles & similar styles is a way for us to share our music & that's got me some great finds here on the forum. When it comes to Neil young I always listened to his more heavy tunes back then but after a while got into some of his country tunes & ballads. My brother got me interested in his (and Dylan)music but he liked most of his quieter tunes back then. When he was out one day I checked out the album decade & discovered he had more going for him than I realised - after that i started to give him a listen for myself.

Yes it is a matter of taste when it comes to the package that the music is wrapped in. But some packages are far more popular with the public while other packages have minority followings only. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Frontier promoted Neil Young downunder in 1985. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Frontier Touring are the promotors of the Neil Young Tour. Bluesfest Touring are a distinct entity. And even if Bluesfest Touring are promoting an artist, that does not necessarily mean that they will perform at Byron Bay...for example The Specials, who are playing Womad 2017. Therefore The Bluesfest Forum is not the appropriate place to raise such a query. You need to contact Frontier Touring. No point joining the Bluesfest Forum just to make a couple of negative posts. There are many of us who attend Bluesfest for more than one artist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccRtO1mJfw"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." I did not join the Forum to make a couple of negative posts.....why are they negative because i asked a curly question?
I attend Bluesfest for more then one artist and have attended about 10 times....so really, what is your issue with a question...
I did believe this is a forum....my comments and questions were in no way negative or disparaging....it was simply a question.
And the only reason I am a NEWBIE is because I changed my details.....

Hey Paul. The Lone Ranger sometimes is very direct with his responses. I'm sure he meant no harm. The point that he has raised is a valid one though. Bluesfest have locked in and confirmed Neil Young. The rest of the tour is being handled by Frontier, so whenever they decide to announce it is up to them....nothing to do with the Bluesfest folk.
