Is that the one where someone said the second announcement was not their cup of tea and the moderator replied?

Yes

That is where the moderator took great offence and abused one of the posters for their opinion. It was very over the top and uncalled for. Exactly what moderators in the past have been saying should not happen. This will probably be next.
Also I had only heard of one of the artists so my musical experiences were apparently very narrow as well!!

bluesfestadmin has already covered this. The forum is now treated a bit like letting the neighbourhood kids play footy on their lawn. So long as it remains peaceful and 'a bit of fun', they don't mind. But at the first sign of someone taking it a bit too far, they will turn on the sprinklers.

BBBF have repeatedly suggested that they would prefer their customers use Facebook as the primary way of discussing how much they love the latest announcement, how much they love the festival and which of their friends they think should be buying tickets.

The Moderator didn't necessarily abuse the poster, but it was very elitist, being along the lines of 'you call yourself a music fan'. The poster merely advised that he/she was not overly enthused by the announcement and hadn't really heard of any of the announced acts. Unless it deteriorated after that, there didn't seem to be much in it apart from some musical snobbery!

Yesterday in that thread I asked if anyone knew from past years how much tickets were going up in price today.
When I checked back later the thread was gone?
Anyway we bit the bullet last night and bought 3 day buddy tickets.

I don't want to go to Facebook to talk about Bluesfest. All I see on there is people tagging their friends saying "we should get tickets!", "are you going ..... .... ?" blah blab blah etc.

I assume that the moderator is knowledgeable on most of the acts discussed on this forum, regardless of genre and era.
If not, an old saying about "glass houses" could be appropriate.

My wife has a Nahko Bear track on her Facebook Page.
BBB
I like the type of music which the other 5 artists belong to,and the more black musicans the more I like it.
CCC
The poster who has not attended Bluesfest before, voiced the opinion that the artists in the announcement were unknown save one.
Which misses the point that any music festival is about seeing artists that you have not seen before
DDD
If I was Admin,I would have removed only those posts which were illogically negative.
Which were minimal compared to the quantum of the thread.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

each announcement broadens my musical knowledge and taste. I love it when I do not know acts- it makes me listen outside my comfort zone.
