I have been asked to pass on this message from the festival director
To the Forum members and guests
' We are always excited to present our first announcement for the next Bluesfest. For us, it is proof positive that all the travel, and work we have put in to produce another festival has reached the point where we are able to announce who is coming to all our expectant friends. This is the first of a number of announcements which will now roll out every few weeks over the coming months.
Bluesfest prides itself on presenting great musicians, and creative artists. It has always been about this for us. . We love great music. And we are dedicated to presenting great music for you. The artists may be household names, or great new emerging artists. And we do have both in this announcement and those coming.
I am extremely excited about the artists being announced at 8am tomorrow.
I do hope you will feel the same, and I look forward to your feedback on the Bluesfest Forum.
In some cases it has taken years to get the confirmation for artists being announced.
There are legends in the announcement, artists who will only play exclusively at Bluesfest, artists you have said you really want to see again returning. And a few surprises.
It won't be long now'.
Thank you for coming on this journey with me.'
Peter Noble
festival Director
Bluesfest

Thanks

Peter
Joining you in your journey has been very enriching.
To my point of view listening to music and discovering new artists is one of life great pleasures.
I have found my visits to Bluesfest one of the highlights of the year and I thank you and your team for all your great work.
Also would like to thank the contributors to the forum for introducing me to new music that may not appear at the festival.
Roll on Easter 2017. Can't wait.

Happy to have them all, but in particular I am extra happy to see "Trombone Shorty" back again.
Last time his show was one of the highlights of the festival. His performances are incredibly joyous and uplifting.
Thanks to the Bluesfest crew who work so hard to make it better for us.

I'm really happy that Mavis and Buddy are back again,
They are a huge festival highlight for us, and that last set Mavis played in Jambalaya was epic.

Because you never know if this will be their last tour they are always unmissable.
For my wife and I, they are like "bucket list" moments every time those two hop on a stage.

I think every time Shorty plays, his first set is always on the Thursday night. It's almost like he opens the festival. I like that.

Love this announcement. Thank you for all your work Peter and the Bluesfest Team. The fun begins. Youtubing artists, setting up Spotify playlists. Stalking the CD stores to find CDs from those announced. Picked up a Ron Ayers CD last night, along with the new Rumjacks (they'd be good to have back), and The Strumbellas (I'd never heard of them but am so glad I have now. Their CD is getting an absolute thrashing at the moment). Bring on announcement number 2.

Any band containing a member of the Neville family is a do not miss.

Those 2005 sets were superlatively spacey.
And he is still in fine form in 2015
