Hi ianandhelena
We are all anarchists here, the last question was moving so slowly I thought it had expired
Admittedly I'm no doctor
If it is not buried you still may post your entries unhampered by a second competing catechism
Unless your name is Dan Quayle

Now Patrick you have included a link in the box attributed to me
If that was meant to be a half an answer it is wrong
Just read the clue - the reptile is perhaps but an ornament

Polk Salad Annie

Pokeweed - where the name Polk Salad came from is poison if not prepared correctly.

Bingo Bongo - Cola Boy has 2/3 of the answer
The song
Is in deed known as Polk Salad Annie

The problem
The song was written as Polk Sallet Annie
It is about the Pokeweed plant, of which every part of it is naturally poisonous
Now "sallet" is a little known old English word meaning cooked greens
Somewhere in production it became Polk Salad and people experimented with the plant and got rather ill
Cooking Polk requires rinsing and boiling for 20 minutes THREE times

Poke Sallet Recipe

1.Remove pokeweed leaves from plant.
2.Rinse pokeweed leaves in cool water.
3.Bring leaves to rolling boil in large pot for 20 minutes.
4.Pour leaves into sieve and rinse in cool water.
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times.
6.Panfry pokeweed leaves for a couple of minutes in bacon grease.

Can't see an answer there yet to Ranger's mindbender (or confirmation) but doing the research presents some amazing info from the revolution of music that happened in the 60's and 70's!

I am tough but fair
Part of the question clearly was - What is (ongoing) the problem ?
So the name change was a least a third of the question IMO

Now who has a question ?

I was thinking 2/2 as the question was asked in 2 parts.
I was aware of the name Sallet but had no idea that was part of the question.

Apparently for some reason unknown to me I got the answer wrong so held off with a question.
I held off as only correct answers ask the next question …but here it is regardless of the rule.

What’s the connection between Aussie country singer slim dusty & the iconic Aussie punk band The Saints?

You’re not warm but red hot (not you personally but the pic)
Slim Dusty's bass player and producer for The Saints Mr Rod Coe.
