This is very sad news. His work with P-Funk (and what a privilege to see him several years ago at fest with P-Funk, getting booted off the stage by Chuggy when they were ready to play all night) was hugely influential and of course there was his work with Talking Heads and the brilliant concert movie 'Stop Making Sense'. I loved the description of his music as "more like a rainforest than a library". RIP Bernie
