Lets give the aussies a rest in 2017. Most people want to see international acts. Lets just give it a rest for one year.

Man you need the awesome local acts!!

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

B. Dylan

Can't wait for Midnight Oil.

Of course there should be Australian acts at Bluesfest!

Don’t get me rong guys. I support Aussie acts – just got tickets for Leo and Lulu in the state 23rd of June. Expats but I consider them aussies.
The oils in 2017 eh, not sure I’d be that interested in them. When was their last hit? – I dont listen to the commercial stations much. Last I heard of them it was at the olympics and all of them wearing sorry teeshirts. Noble enough for peter noble ha ha.

But a lot of us would like a year off – just a break ok! you want to see aussies go to homebake with all the half baked teenagers!

So your litmus test of quality music is whether or not it was a hit single?!
Considering they split up in 2002 and aren't reforming until 2017, it's hardly suprising that Midnight Oil haven't had a hit for a while!
How many hits have Leo Sayer and Lulu had in the last 30+ years and when exactly did Lulu emigrate to Australia?!

Can you provide a number for the amount of people you are speaking on behalf of?
It might be difficult for those of us wanting Aussie acts to go to Homebake considering it was last on in 2012!

I'm guessing you didn't spend much time checking this act out last year?

I'm with you spanner. I wonder how Dave Hole, slide maestro, would be classified?

well how about some aussie artists that should be at bluesfest, and maybe haven't....
from blues on broadbeach....just a bit late...but anyway...
LACHY DOLEY GROUP....were sensational, especially if you like that big Hammond organ sound.
DOM TURNER AND PHIL WIGGINS
GREG ACHISON AND THE SOULDIGGERS
BLUE SHADDY..another high energy performance,im almost getting sick of asking....WHY haven't we seen them at bluesfest?????
DEVILS KIOSK
UPTOWN BROWN...not on a stage, wandering through the crowd.
MITCH KING....incredibly talented young guy.
plus many that have been at bluesfest...MASON RACK,JUZZIE SMITH,LLOYD SPIEGEL ETC

PLUS hopefully THE OILS and LIVING END..im currently listening to shift, their new music..good stuff.

maybe HOODOO GURUS.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Great line up Waffles all of whom are more than deserving a slot a BF. Yeah Shift is a great album from a band at the top of their game. Lachy Doley, Blue Shaddy, Devil's kiosk and Mitch King were definately standouts at Broady and I would add 8 Ball Atkinson who would not be out of place at BF either.

I only made Broadbeach on the Sunday (at least that´s one day better than the previous several years when I´ve been on the other side of the planet!)
But Eric Burdon and Gail Page made it a good day. I´d again like to add Gail Page to the list of local artists worthy of a Bluesfest spot, particularly with the current band.
