Keith Emerson, founding member and keyboardist of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and a prog rock legend, died Friday. He was 71. His bandmate
Carl Palmer and the trio's official Facebook confirmed Emerson's death.
TMZ reported that police found Emerson with a single gunshot wound to the head, and Santa Monica police confirmed to Billboard
that Emerson died by suicide. "We regret to announce that Keith Emerson died last night at his home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, aged 71.
We ask that the family’s privacy and grief be respected," the band wrote.

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

I was going to suggest bluesfest does an epitaph to the artists that have passed in the last year....but I don't know if there would be enough time...unfortunately. sad but true.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

I always jokingly referred to the famous line in "My Generation" when I was too young to really understand it.
Sadly it seems that for many "Baby Boomers" that lyric "Hope I Die Before I Get Old" is biting very hard for too many of us.
RIP to Keith Emerson and all the friends we have lost recently...
