Quote:
Just months after releasing his latest solo album, legendary Daddy Cool guitarist Ross Hannaford has died, aged 65.

A benefit concert that turned into a celebration of "Hanna" was held midway through last year after it became known publicly that he'd been diagnosed with cancer.

He continued playing despite his deteriorating health, but lost his battle today. Hanna was also the name of that last album, on which Hannaford wrote and played all the instruments.

funny that. several years ago I ended up on stage with rockwiz, and ross Wilson was a guest. after the show ,backstage I asked him if they ever played that song...one of my favorite daddy cool songs.he sheepishly said sometimes.
daddy cool were on that night and he introduced it the same as in the clip...it broke me up.
R.I.P. hanna...sadly missed.made a great contribution to oz music.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Final song at Narooma 2015.

Very sad. a good guy indeed.

A friend of mine who is BluesFest regular, lost his partner only 2 weeks ago, and he told me that he had run into Hanna at a palliative care place recently, which was not a good sign.

Many years ago, Hanna played in a muck around band called Big Dump, with some other older Melbourne music types, including Bobby Bright and also a younger mate of ours.

What a character he was.

RIP

Recently, he could be found busking in the CBD. I think he figured that busking pays better and cuts out the middle-men.

This is really sad news. I used to see Lucky Dog regularly. He was certainly one of the good guys, and a really good guitarist. RIP.
