I may be a bit of a counter culture oldy but watching the cricket and listening to Xavier Rudd's music being used to sell KFC is a bit hard. Still I guess everyone has to earn a quid...

I still prefer hearing Rudd playing over an ad than I do the Ch9 team of commentators who spend more time name dropping and reminding us that they used to play cricket.

I prefer Xavier's chicken music to those vegetarian brothers from Australian Idol (or what ever show they are on)

Xavier Rudd has done more for indigenous rights, pro environment groups and many other causes than I would suggest, everyone who posts on this board.
He has been there, on the gbround contless times
Show him some respect please.

Oh ye who is without sin, cast the first stone.
thanks

Ok,

Looks like KFC targets Vegetarians who have once worked with PETA, for their sales promotion.
Just goes to show you that money talks and something else walks, including ethics...

this is an early Rudd recording that is being used

The problem is probably with who owns the rights to this recording, and publishing

rudd probably has no SAY IN IT'S USE

THE DEALS YOU MAKE ON THE WAY UP, CAN TURN AROUND AND BITE YOU

Maybe a disgruntled early manager, smething of that sort is to blame.

I ask you, who would such a pro environment person do such a thing - it does not ring true.

Congratulions to Xavier Rudd for all his good works, and for staying quiet and this time, asnd not giving it air

Walked though Woolies the other day. Michael Franti was playing (everyone deserves music)

Woolworths are the biggest owners of poker machines in Australia – that makes them far far worse for society than KFC.

These products tear homes apart every single day – specifically targeting our underprivileged areas. Literally responsible for taking shoes off kids feet! Makes adverting zinger burgers seem like a community service.

Mikes Australian agent needs to do his homework next time.

As for the vegan X factor tattoo rock god twins doing ads for Coronel Sanders.. Reminds me of the attached.

What everyone should realise, is how little the control is of an artist in respect of what his record label or publisher may license to any third party.
Once you are on top, fine, until that time, things like this is what may occur
You should not blame the artist

Re advertising –

lucky this blues legend who is certain to be announced in the coming weeks supports aussie products. An multi-talented artist of great integrity in control of his own name/brand/destiny.
