Definitely agree, Taj Mahal and also agree Tab Benoit, he hasn't appearred and would be great catch for next year. Also how about The Tommy Castro Band, they were a big hit at Red Devil a few years back, and possibly Mr. Noble perhaps The Robert Randoph Band or Derek Trucks Band and Susan Tedeschi????? All the best Wazza.

Taj owes us one.
Solomon Burke shouldda been there this year.
Still think B.B. King isn't out of the question. I was hoping to see him in the US in a few months but he goes and pulls a Farnham and heads to Europe for a post-"farewell tour" tour.

Seeing as we are becoming "Rootsfest" lets get:

James McMurtry - like John Hiatt crossed with Lou Reed - tell it like it is singer/songwriter
Susan Tedeschi
Derek Trucks Band
The Felice Brothers - so far the best album of 2009 - a definate contender for the best of year
Ron Sexsmith
Rodney Crowell - with band this time
Doyle Bramhall senior and junior - BIG Texas gooves
Widespead Panic - a jam band smorgasboard experience in the Deadhead tradition
Bonnie Raitt
Little Feat
Keith Richards and the Expensive Winoes

For Bluesfest:

The Fabulous Thunderbirds
Robert Cray - it's been a while
Little Charlie and the Nightcats
Stephen Bruton
Lonnie Brooks
Sean Costello
Ronnie Earl
Keb Mo

And the Aus contingent:

The Flood
The Church
Ed Kuepper
Chris Wilson
Dave Hole
Anne McCue
Diesel
Richard Clapton

....and ok - Uncle Eric Clapton. That should get the accountants rubbing their hands together.... so we can afford these guys;)

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings pbblues but Stephen Bruton passed away in the last few days after a long battle with cancer.

Little Charlie and the Nightcats are no more since Charles retired to concentrate on his gypsy swing project. Fortunately, Rick Estrin has recrutied Kid Anderson to join Rick Estrin & The Nightcats

You're a bloody trouble maker Dan! BTW, would love to hear some reports about Austin.

In the meantime, my 5 cents' worth:

Glen David Andrews
