I'll be getting along to one of the days, probably Saturday.

From what I hear it's a huge event but with a really relaxed vibe - free and easy!

Looking forward to the lineup in due course but, like Bluesfest, I suspect it is always worth a visit.

Cheers,

Andrew

I know some locals that go every year.

They definitely have a bit of a game plan they stick to, I will try and get some info for you

Obvious picks for me would be
AATW
Emmylou & Rodney
Neko Case
The Mavericks
I would be sticking to Country Acts so it is then a matter of sifting through the riches on display.
Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys via a YouTube Clip would be a must.
Thanks for posting the list.
Great opportunity to peek.

Sydney needs a benefactor like Warren Hellman

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Amongst so many great acts, one that stands out for me is Joe Jackson.

Yes, just listening to him today thinking he would draw a crowd at bluesfest.

There is too much in the festival that is not Country.

I would prefer this lineup.

You forgot the Punch Bros.
Better live than on You Tube.
Their material takes bluegrass to another plane.
Not boring

hardly strictly Bluegrass 2015 was awesome.A beautiful setting in Golden gate park.6 stages spread over a big area so you do a lot of walking and tough choices had to be made about who to see.

My Faves:
Dry Branch Fire Squad- called themselves the " strictly Bluegrass" part of the festival. They had the best between song banter of the whole festival.Funny and humble they put on a great bluegrass set.
Punch Brothers.
The Mavericks.
T- Bone burnett.
Chatham County Line.
Donnie Fritts and John Paul White.
Robert Earl Keen.
Sunday morning Gospel from the Fairfield Four.
Fantastic Negrito.
Ben Miller Band was the absolute high light of the festival
Asleep at the wheel
Emmylou and Rodney Crowell. At the end of her set she sent her band off and bought out Buddy Miller, Steve Earle, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings for the final song of the festival.I could have cried.

Missed Gillian Welch playing on Saturday , and Ralph Stanley broke his hip a few days before the Festival, so he was a no show.
It was a great 3 days of music..
