Not since Robert Randolph played his first set all those years ago at Red Devil Park has a band blown me away so much as this one on Friday night

This set alone was worth the price of a 5 day pass

Thanks Mr N!

Was watching Mavis Staples on Sunday just outside Jambalaya and turned around and saw Zac and Brittany standing right behind me !!!!Shook Hands with Zac and High-fives with Brittany.

Alabama Shakes was my most anticipated. Pre BF, instantly loved every song I had ever heard. At BF I was blown away by Brittany & Zac's look and stage presence, and lost as to why others weren't similarly besotted.
I was told on Friday they started early and crammed near 20 songs in. That's the sign of a band that WANTS to play.
Then you hear folk say it was poor mixing this; or some other thing. Started to tarnish what was for me the experience of 2015. I stopped listening.
Friday clash with GCJnr was made sweeter by GCJnr blowing the cobwebs away in Jambalaya before I cut away to see Alabama Shakes. In the time it takes to boil a jug, I reluctantly left the magic of one great to step into the spell of another. Pretty damn good.
