Hi there fellow bulletin boarders just back from my enforced month ban er I mean holiday from the board........you b's never even missed me. Well you missed some great reviews of Steve Smythe (don't miss him ), Megan Washington, The Walters, Mojo Webb and Charlie Musselwhite last week who was sensational in a small new intimate venue in brisvegas reviewed elsewhere.
Looking forward to catching up with old bf friends in a few weeks and don't forget to check out the stellar blues lineup this year in May at the free Broadbeach Blues Festival.
I have spent my layoff rediscovering the burgeoning and fantastic craft beer venues opening all over brissy including several fantastic micro breweries and Leftys Old Time Music Hall has some of the best live music in the country as well as a brilliant bourbon, whisky and craft beer bars. The resident Sat. band the Walters are a killer rockabilly outfit.
Not sure how long this post will stay up but nice talking to you all again.

Look out for those in the striped suits at the Posters Meeting Place.
And no imposters allowed.

Some of the Brisbane artists such as Mojo Webb or Lil Fi would be great to see again.
As would Ross Ward's Xpress.
Wonder if any of the old hands will feature this year.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Welcome back.

I also still have that programme for the Jethro Tull 25th that I think you were going to put to good use.

Hey spanner1, welcome back and how good was Charlie Musselwhite last week?!
I drank far too much White Rabbit Dark Ale, and paid for it on Friday.
I caught the Felice Brothers the night before as well, they were amazing.
This week it's First Aid Kit & Luluc Wednesday and then Shovels and Rope Friday.
And plenty more around Brisbane between now and BF2015.
We should catch up at one of these gigs and have a beer together.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...

cheers for the welcome back. Yeah Charlie was awesome and they do have some good beers at the triffid. Will make a point of trying to catch you at some of these gigs. Have been enjoying Lulac since your earlier recommendation. I am working doing community recovery from recent cyclones all weekend but will probably go to Lefty's sat night.

Welcome home from your holiday.
Sounds like you enjoyed the break.
After that rest you should be in fine form for easter.

Only gig I have been to this year was a couple of weeks ago.
Went to see mojo juju @hotel hotel in Canberra, not bad but a rather quiet Sunday arvo set & to be honest I would of rather seen them the night before @ the phonix bar as it sounded like that gig would have been a little more energized

Most years I go into Canberra with a few mates & see the free New Year's Eve concert but not this year.
Went to a mates place instead as he was unwell & would not Be able to go.
So I took a few DVDs over & the end result was still good,we settled for Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps.
None of us are Eskimo Joe fans so we still had a good night & I was very happy to catchup with my mate as he had been very ill(passed away only last Thursday) so it was rather bittersweet this years New Years.

What's high on your must see list for bf2015? (Please don't mention Billy Bragg)Shame on you

Greta to hear there is another Luluc fan out there (they are supporting First Aid Kit next week at the Tivoli).
I am in Toowoomba for the weekend so can't get to lefty's but am there often (Toowoomba record fair then family dinner this weekend).

Interesting you work in the emergency management area, I do too.
Won't say what on here though.

Catch you at Lefty's or at Luluc, or at The Sunnyboys, or at The Gin Club, or at My Friend the Chocolate Cake, or at Bluesfest, or at Halfway or at Twerps (upcoming brisvegas gigs).

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...
