Young band who I had no real desire to see....although my wife and kids play that song a lot.

From the band's point of view, it's probably a decision they had to make. I guess they have a chance of some good exposure in the U.S. but unless they do make it, I think they have blown any chance of playing Bluesfest again. I tell you what, if they came out and said we have a great opportunity in the States but we are still going to honor our Bluesfest committment. I would have gone and seen them on that alone.

Sounds like a good will gesture by Bluesfest Management not to hold them to their contractual obligations.

I gather its a lot harder for bands to break through to new markets and I think its great
that Bluesfest have allowed them the leeway to strike while the irons hot.

I'm sure we will see them play Bluesfest again and I'm sure they will rock.
Good luck to them (they are from Brissy after all)

Jack Johnson did headline shows on Thurs & Sat in 2010,so I would rate your wish as having a 100 % chance of happening.
I say that also given that his scheduled Au tour dates are on 2nd 6th and 8th.
Sat the 4th at present is mysteriously vacant.

And with the Gypsy Kings headlining Crossroads on Saturday, who will be in the other three tents for me to watch at that same time.
Melbourne Ska Orchestra or the Beat would be just fine.
