I don't think we've done this before and I'm almost embarrassed to admit mine
But I suppose since I started the topic I'd better go first

.... ok, so I didn't see them cos of an unfortunate clash with the Blind Boys but ...

"Rattlin Bones" - Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson

One of the best Australian albums I've heard! I love it. It's been on high rotation in my house since late last year.

I can't stand her solo albums though.

I didn't buy any albums at Bluesfest 'cause I'm a tightarse and $30 for a CD seems a bit steep. I'm more of a $10 and under CD kinda guy. hahaha

its apity the cd tent only sells festival artists (and a few dodgy 2nd hand dvds?) a few festivals ago you could spent hours checking the hard to find blues cds of ALL artists.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

I only bought one cd and one dvd from the Bluesfest Tent.

The tent used be be contracted to a local records chain,"All Music & Vision " but this year was operated by the Bluesfest management.

Roomful Of Blues "Turn It On Turn It Up''

Yes your observation is spot on Waffles.

That is how at a past Bluesfest I found this cd sitting around for the princely sum of $10.

The procurement of it has opened up a whole new tangent of music I did not know existed.

The guy at All Music & Vision said that they pulled out of Bluesfest due to the lease charges being too high, which would have meant that they would have had to charge $40 a cd.

And when the standard charge in Aussie is $30.....I would not have paid $40.

In reality I should not have bought the Zappa DVD there.

Apparently you can buy it for $20 in the Warehouse here.

Thinking about Drive by Truckers..........Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials make alot of noise but have a guitarist who does some great slide.

If you want some noise with a bit of flair, why not book these guys.

I have never heard them before, but I listened to "Hold That Train" the first track on "Full Tilt" in the shop, and it just blew me away.

i bought albums so i could say "I bought them at Bluesfest" but in reality, JB Hi Fi would have been a much cheaper option!

I bought CDs by Rodney Crowell, Hot Club/Elana James(sigh) Terrance Simien and Dallas Frasca.

But - my favourite is "Eaglesmith" - a compilation of Fred songs by a variety of artists, which I happened on while sheltering from the rain. Made me realise how much I would have liked to see Fred again, even without the late lamented Willie P.
