They played as a duo, and did a large slice of their most recent album, On The Boundaries. Simply wonderful (and anybody who hasn't seen them live should get along to one of their two performances at Bluesfest). They are WAY more than just a local fill-in act. You would go a long way to find a better vocalist than Leesa Gentz, and Julz Parker is in my best 5 Australian guitarists . Together, they have the most awesome chemistry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C8tybsIBMUPete Cornelius is without doubt Tasmania's finest musican. And a very humble person. We seem to have moved away from this type of artist at Bluesfest.

Off to see Icehouse tonight. Probably not bluesfest material, but given the range of artists that we now get to see I wouldn't ever rule them out. Playing one of their albums off Spotify, in the car on the way in to work this morning certainly brought back some mid-1980s memories.

For a start I must say I really like bands with 2 singers and Robert and Peter have completely different voices , they both stand out individually but also blend so well. Robert was rock god for the night, from playing bass on top of the speaker stack to him getting down in the crowd , he seemed to be feeding off the electric crowd energy. Mid set they scaled it back a bit for some individual bluesy solo tunes but soon ramped it up for more blistering sonic rockers. These guys gave it everything and the crowd responded with what is the loudest cry for and encore I've ever heard. The night finished after another epic rocking number with Robert on his knees scratching out some scuzzy bass noise with the microphone and Leah kicking her drum kit off the stand. All in all an unforgettable night.
