I agree, for me it's -

Conor Oberst (really only going to see The Felice Brothers)
Charlie Musselwhite
#1 Dads
First Aid Kit (really only going to see Luluc)
Sharon Van Etten
The Sunnyboys
Sun Kil Moon
And I am sure I have some other tickets kicking around here somewhere.

An update -
Tiny Ruins
Shovels and Rope
Shaky Graves
The Riptides
The Gin Club
My Friend the Chocolate Cake
Jen Cloher
Halfway
Mosman Alder
Twerps

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...

We saw "Out Of Abingdon" at the Django Bar in Sydney, if you like a bit of Jazz their latest album "Small Steps" is a must listen. A very talented duo from Queensland... they would go well in one of the small tents at Bluesfest. Might be free this Easter, who knows... :-)

We saw Jaron Freeman-Fox and The Opposite of Everything on Sunday. This Canadian outfit are touring Australia at the moment, heading to Canberra next and then on down to Victoria.

Jaron is an amazing fiddle player who has collaborated with Ben Caplan.

I recommend the show, probably one of the best new artists (to us anyway) in the last few months.

It's difficult to describe their musical style as it includes many influences, from indian to scandanavian to bluegrass to prog rock to zappa to tom waits... best check them out yourself...

saw hat fitz and cara followed by jesse valach and then Russell Morris at a free festival by the bay last Sunday all were very good.

Was doing some stuff at the Foo Fighters last Saturday so did not see much, but they sure have a lot of hits.

A few weeks back I was at Wrong Direction surrounded by 40,000 screaming young lasses.

It looked like that some Wrong Direction members could not mime or lip sync properly, but the young girls did not seem to care

Well after Bluesfest, we have Russell Morris and then a week later Mental as Anything.
Takes me back to the Sunday Arvo's at the Broadbeach Beer Garden.

Village people:Enmore theatre. In my defence, a Xmas gift to my wife and I. Some of the punters had hard hat hair, some lucky to have hair.

Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival this weekend, just wrapping up. Some great blues from Doggin' It, The Jacky Howellers & Chris Harland Band, plus brass from Hot Potato were my favourites. Lots of venues and styles to choose from and a great atmosphere all weekend. All gigs free, no less!

Well worth putting in the diary for next year....

Andrew
