Surprised to see Bo Dollis in the lineup as I thought he had been ill for some time,
Good to see he's still doing it.

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
Vodka, plastic pop-off, twist one off
Yesterday I smoked, today I don't
Yeah, yeah, yeah

It's Bo Jr. You're right about Bo Sr - he had a stroke after Katrina (and just before he was due to come to bluesfest) and whilst he survived, that mighty voice is just a croak these days. However, he's still with us and sometimes puts in an appearance for a song or two with the Wild Magnolias.

i have no idea who Pitbull is, and will not be trying to find out.

I have had lots on today and have not studied the line up in full, but it looks OK to me.

I have noted that Hoover was announced on both JazzFest and Bluesfest bill stoday

Repete and Jazzfest have the annual accolade of being the messenger and message that telegraphs that my life is a little hollow until I get to NO for Jazzfest Jazz fest is becoming the holy grail.

And amongst all that talent there is always one band that excites beyond the FAQ. CHICAGO

Agree entirely. I was attempting to point the finger at those who complain that an event known as "Bluesfest" contains other genres. Why some feel the need to categorise music is often beyond me.

Jazzfest is definitely on my bucket list.....

Bonarroo has also just announced
school of thought in Bluesfest office is - we give both fests a good run for their money - with MUCH harder logistics to deliver

Both jazzfest and bonarroo are festivals a lot of us love would go to, but doesn't take away how amazing bluesfest is. They may BE on a bigger scale but as the cost for us to fly there etc, I can only thank bluesfest for brining the most of the artists out to Aus that we can easily see, Bryon might me 3000k away for me but still a lot easier and enjoyable then going to the US.

Once again thankyou bluesfest team for giving us our weekend of great music and new discoveries

I would love to go to those 2 festivals just to say that I've seen them but in all honesty I couldn't see them as being better than Bluesfest. At Bluesfest I get 5 days of music. I simply couldn't listen to any more music than I do. The qualilty of the music is everything I could ask for. There's more music choice at the other 2 shows but I'm already missing shows that I would like to see at each Bluesfest so it doesn't mean I would be seeing more shows it just means that I would be missing more shows. There's just something I love about those big tents. The atmosphere is about as good as you could get at any large gathering of people. The food about as good and as varied as you could expect. The camping is as close as it possibly could be. I get to start the day with a swim at the most beautiful beach you could wish for. As I firmly believe "Quality not quantity". But I would love to go to Jazzfest one day.

Well put Glenboss 1000% agree. That early morning swim and brekkie is a must. A fair percentage of the jazzfest bill, bluesfest have provided.

I agree, and have been to both BluesFest and JazzFest many times.

And keep telling my septic friends, what they are missing, by not getting their lazy arses down to BluesFest.

But talking in a Jazz style. Do you really need to blow your own Trumpet?

Yes - after all the negativity on this forum recently
Bluesfest should be compared to both the Jazzfest and Bonarroo artist bills

We all believe it stands up favourably.
We are often told the Blues component of Bluesfest is the world's best by agents and artists.
We believe we deliver - and recent posts have been extremely unfair - so making the point
OH - and this is our Forum.
WE pay for it - and if we want to beat our own drum a bit - we will

Not sure where my pervious comment went but considering it was written in what I had considered was a rather praising way I can't understand why it had to go???

You probably got deleted when my post (reminding fest admin to get Courtney Barnett to bluesfest as a priority) was deleted. As it wasn't relevant to the thread, i don't have a problem with mine being deleted as I have made my views known elsewhere, but yours shouldn't have been.
