Promoter announced that due to poor ticket sales (less than 10 sold to the Globe gig in Brisbane), the promoter cannot risk bringing him up here.
Less than 10 people wanted to see him live, enough to have bought tickets early on.
Wow.

Another chip away at getting quality acts to Brisbane, it seems the recent Out on the Weekend Americana festival tanked, I was there, the ticket sales must have been atrocious.
Were it not for all the bands watching each other, the place would have been a ghost town.
Pretty sad.
Anxious

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...

That is a terrible response from a population base of 3 million.
He had a very long line of autograph hunters at Bluesfest.
Can such an artist tour too often ?

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Good question. I believe it's just a generational thing. People who like charlie are probably more likely to see him at a festival where they can see many acts rather than spending money to see him on his own. Its a shame.

My friends who are seniors flew from Perth to bluesfest the year he played with ben harper. They saw him at the airport and approached him for a photo. And asked the gentleman with charlie to take the photo. According to the story the bloke who they asked to take the photo was ben harper. They didn't even realise till someone pointed it out a few minutes later.

Heard he was announced for a festival (can't remember which one). If he was doing sideshows, hadn't heard about them. No publicity could also be a factor for poor ticket sales. Is he playing Sydney?

Sad news for Brisbane blues fans. I'm rapt to be seeing Charlie at Womad early March.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen Charlie play - with his own band, with Duke Robillard and Little Milton at bluesfest (!!) years ago, or with the Blind Boys, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Henry Butler at Tipitina's in New Orleans in 2009. Thing is, I have NEVER left one of his shows even slightly disappointed.

This gig was very poorly advertised so I am not surprised nobody bought tickets. I didn't know about it nor any of my friends who go to BF

What a joke.... Like I said earlier this moderator has and will hurt bluesfest financially.... Mark my words.

I've just bought my ticket to this show, and really looking forward to it

Can I ask a favour though?

Could Mr (or Ms) Moderator please delete this whole thread?

You see, when someone Googles (I assume this is a verb) " Musselwhite Brisbane" up pops this forum headline at the top of the links, which of course is now not true, as the gig is well and truly 'uncancelled'

The thread's continued existence will give punters the wrong impression and may cause missed ticket sales for the promoter etc.

Problem still exists. Better to delete the whole thread, methinks.

It will likely require someone to log into Google Webmaster Tools and submit the URL for re-indexing. It can take a few days for Google's spider to come back around.

Removing the thread will have less of an impact in the short term and will likely mean that Google will return the result from their cache instead of removing it.
