I think I saw someone pumping for Tom Jones.
It could be Rod as he has just announced a tour next year and the dates fit.
Now personnally, I would think that Rod would be a great fit. I'm sure that won't go down well with many but I could put up with a half empty tent and Rod.

i doubt very much Rod would only draw half a tent full of people.
It'd be jammed.

Rockin' Rod would be a treat, but can he still do it?

And I agree with you GreyBeard, to see Maggie May live, with a Faces style band would be a treat.

Now, the Faces reformed and did the European summer festivals a few years ago, imagine if that could all come together?

Peter Noble, you're welcome!

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...

Rod Stewart and Faces

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

I remember Ashwoods,

I brought Magazine's extended mix limited edition
double A sided 12 inch single "Give me everything"
and "Song from under the floorboards" straight off the rack.

Could always pick up good Import records at those stores,
but I'm talking circa late seventies early eighties which was
during my wonder years (((wonder how I survived)))

I have it on good authority that we will be getting Rockin' Rod and a band as close to the Faces as is possible.
It has dawned on Rod that doing the standards only shows his age. It was a case of either appearing at the local retirement home as a one man band, or trying to prove that he can still rock with the best of them.
Also the kids don't know the words to the standards as he sings them to sleep.

I am hoping that Rod doesnt read this tread as research that has gone into this post is very thin.

There are 4 days of BF empty on that tour schedule.
I am excited by this prospect.

Anything rocking / faces-ish would really float my little boat.

I've hummed along to a few of his songs over the years but the only thing I've ever thoroughly enjoyed with Rod Stewart was his guest appearance on Jeff Beck's album Flash where he sings People Get Ready. It's just an absolutely brilliant version of the song and they compliment each other superbly. Maybe it just gives a flash back to their early days. I'm sure there's a heap of fans for him at Bluesfest but I'll probably be in one of the other tents (unless Jeff Beck make a guest appearance to do People Get Ready live)

Rod Stewart with Ron Wood for some Faces fun and games will be fine.

But will give Solo Rod in Greatest Hits and American Songbook mode a wide berth

Can't see it happening though.
