When I look at photos of the aftermath that punters left at Glastonbury Festival this year (2014) I am so proud of Bluesfest and its festival goers for keeping Bluesfest clean and green. Honestly, I was shocked, to put it lightly, to see so much rubbish left behind for hundreds of cleaners to have to get rid of. Actually, I was feeling sick and angry that people would treat whenua/land that way.

Who needs to take responsibility for all the rubbish, for keeping the place clean and green? Is it the the festival organisers, the punters or is it both?

I have seen what happens in Gisborne, New Zealand, at Rhythm and Vines festival over New Years Eve. Out of towners flood the city for a few days, dump all their crap on one of the most beautiful cities in New Zealand (I'm referring to the camp sites and beaches mainly), then they leave and head back to their concrete jungles.

Just wanting to know what you musical lovers think of these photos.

What a mess!
But I think the solution to the problem is pretty obvious. There is not a single rubbish bin to be seen in any of the photos.
Provide lots of bins
Just like Bluesfest
Problem solved
Where do I send my invoice??

Bluesfest has three key things it does..

1] Provide lots of bins which are constantly cleared..
2] Lots of fan education both on the screens and sometimes spoken from the stage..
3] Cleaners normally volunteers picking up rubbish...

However it shows a a total disregard for keeping the place clean...

imagine the cash and other valuables amongst all that

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

I haven't been for five years but falls festival didn't have many bins. They had that tractor come along and wipe the slate clean every day.
Do they still do that? Any one?

Dear Skot,
Are you going to be a goose all your life?
