The new champagne and white spirit was a great innovation. How about a guinness and kilkenny tent next year.
10-12% increase in drink prices from last year is a bit rich. CPI is only 2.7%

It was pretty frustrating watching bands quenching themselves with decent beers (coopers, pironi etc) while the punters had to settle for Tooheys... I ended up going teetotal for the duration.

C'mon Hardtack Tooheys New is Glorious!

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

A local brewery tent or two would be a nice addition.

I was a bit disappointed to find on more than one occasion the drinks tent had run out of beer and when I went back with a spirit voucher they had run out of Bundy!

Better logistics needed I think.

Agree about the choices... BF dominates most other festivals in every aspect except drink choices. In the Craft Beer Age it is an embarrassment that the options are so few. Take a look at the real ale tent at any UK festival for ideas :-)

not sure but I think the alcohol would be a separate contract and not controlled by bluesfest as such.
coca cola amatil now own jim beam and other beers,so I think it might have something to do with that.

but I did miss the bundy bar and the Somersby cider trailer.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Toohey's New is indeed glorious compared to that Extra Dry swill that was the only full strength beer this year. Not a drop of New to be seen.

Some better beers would be great, but given that companies like Tooheys, Jim Beam etc. are likely almost giving the stuff away for promotional/advertising purposes, I'd hate to see what they'd charge for a drop of a real beer from smaller producers.

That said, would love to see some craft beers happen and would gladly support it!

Hi all. This was my 4th Bluesfest and I was also disappointed with the lack of beer options this year, especially considering how many spirits were available. I found myself not drinking as much because of it (perhaps not a bad thing).

I'd love to see some NSW craft beers like Stone and Wood or 4 Pines but I assume the festival has a contract with Lion who own Tooheys, xxxx etc. but they own a lot of other companies too. I know James Squire is one of them, surely they could put a couple of Squire beers on the menu which are infinitely better than extra dry or xxxx (shudder).

My 2 best are Feral hop hog and stone and wood.
