You are both very fortunate to have caught him live.
I never had that privilege.
thanks for the great clip ranger - I was fortunate to have seen Ian Drury and the Blockheads at the old Cloudland Ballroom an iconic dance hall in brisbane shortly before it was torn down by an unscrupulous tory govt. It was an amazing show with the support band being Midnight Oil. ps loved the Cleese response to cuter

You were very fortunate Spanner.
I'm not aware that he visited over here but I didn't see any live music for 20 years so don't really know.
Queensland seems to have been a right wing state for ever.
Thank goodness they finally got rid of that Danish bloke we exported.
John Cleese certainly has the solution.
I identify with the likes of Ian Dury as I expected you also would.

Yes it was that danish idiot that we had the misfortune of inheriting from you that did so much destruction to our heritage and democracy at the time and yes I loved Drury for his music and because he was a great role model for people with disability on what they could achieve.

This is really bad.
You were not even allowed to have protest marches.

I think it's hilarious how this thread has drifted from a young singer-songwriter to JBP. The silly old bugger was a source of much hilarity in the southern states, although he did come up with some funny lines at times (such as describing press conferences as "feeding the chooks") which is not bad considering he struggled most times with the English language. Poor Queensland, although it must be said that he wasn't able to kill off music with Brisbane having an electrifying music scene in the mid to late 70's which produced two of the most original and iconic bands in Australian music history - the Saints and the Go Betweens.

I didn't know he came from NZ...sounds like we need to send another boatload of possums over to the land of the long white cloud as revenge Whistle

No, leave it here, the wise ( and that's not me) will stay away, and Correct Mute Up (and anagram and wish) will be amused - away from the masses.
Of course there is a remote chance of a relevent post being entered too !!
