It is only 7.59 pm on the Gold Coast.
I thought announcement time was 10.00pm.

Sounds like this will be a "tomorrows superstars" announcement

People aren't happy by the looks of Facebook..... I'm happy with the anoncement. But using the words exclusive and jack Johnson again this has to be a joke right?

I am very pleased with these additions to the lineup for 2014 :)

elvis Costello was simply brilliant in 2011, the soul rebels will put on one hell of a party, Trixie whitley is one artist not to miss if you don't know her she is fantastic!, grace potter who I enjoyed this year will be good also.

i am starting to think there will be too many good names to catch in just 5 days if these announcements keep coming!

This is a nice announcement without being earth shattering. Certainly looking forward to seeing Grace Potter again. The Soul Rebels will be ace. Jack Johnson doesn't excite me much and Elvis Costello I will only check if he is not clashing with someone else that I like. Having a look at the schedule, there is a gaping hole on the Sunday night for a headliner or 2.

What aren't they happy about on Facebook ?
I imagine that is because more younger than older people use it
My youngest boy is at a Uni Hostel this year, and they are made to communicate with the wardens on Facebook, and all hostel communications are posted on there.

It is a bit like sports statistics. If you look hard enough, you can make something look as exceptional as you want. i.e. To the exclusion of all others, Jack Johnson will be appearing at a specific time on a specific stage. At that precise moment, he will not be appearing at any other venue.

BF pulled something similar by announcing the 2009 appearance of Ben Harper's Relentless 7 project as 'exclusive' opted to ignore the many gigs that had been held prior to the BF appearance.

Like any good media release, BF are ticking off their required set of key words. The surprising thing here is that they didn't spend the preceding weeks warning that the event will sell out as soon as Jack Johnson's name was announced.

Or because people who are being asked to fork out $625+accomm are expecting more than just a rehash of 'headline' artists who have already toured in the last few years (or in some cases, months).

Now I just need to hope that the artists that interest me get added to the Deni lineup....

The price and the last announcement is what I'm reading. Sucks to be them.....

Having a Jack exclusive again could not be avoided.

Just my opinion- but the headliners for mine this year are a bit ho-hum.

Certainly nothing on the last 2 years.

Lets hope some big guns still to come?

Love the fest - so all the more opportunity to go exploring on the other stages.

what a pack of whingers!

Truly, people, you have 5 days of amazing music and you think the headliners are 'ho-hum' - ge

Whilst Jack Johnson is to me like watching paint dry, it frees up time to catch someone else

After 18 years of BluesFest, I have never been disappointed with the line up, nor the organisation (with the exception of the 6 day season pass and the GreedFest Monday of a few years back)

The headliners of the past few years have been incredible - very hard acts to follow

You can't please everyone, but this Fest certainly caters for most tastes, so quit complaining and enjoy
