Why do people have a problem with Jack Johnson?

I'd buy tickets for his Brisbane show if I didn't need to save my money for Big Day Out and Bluesfest.

in my opinion, jack Johnson is a very popular artist who has released some quite good material over the past decade. the problem is, his live show is unenergetic & not suited to a headline billing at a major festival. in the 5 times I have attended bluesfest only twice have I fallen asleep during a performance & the first time was during jack Johnson's 10.30pm set on the opening night of bf 2010... now at the time I was 23 years old, when you put someone who is in your main demographic to sleep 4 songs in to your set you have a problem. thankfully bluesfest resolved this issue the next year with much more lively acts in the headline slot on opening night.
I am actually considering attending his qpac show in December as I am still a fan of mr. Johnson... however if he was to play bluesfest I just know they would have put him in the closing slot once again at a festival where his laid back, chilled solo surfer acoustic tunes do not belong in the late night headline spot... 6pm with the sun going down & a red wine or two to go with it & you have me sold on jack Johnson at bluesfest... but he's not going to be billed in that slot everyone knows it.
I hope my opinion is somewhat interesting to you, later.

It is not that you dislike Willy Nelson.
It is that you dislike acoustic Country Music.
That is also why you negatively appraised Barry Saunders.

Too close to Big Day Out. One festival in the Qld summer heat will be enough for me. I'd probably go if it was much later in the year.

This is true. But I relive my high school years every year at soundwave.

The local president of the Country Music Club, also an acoustic guitar player and acoustic guitar teacher/local music shop owner, was very honoured to be able to have a rap backstage with Tommy Emmanuel in Wellington on his last NZ Tour.....certainly a candidate for the title of the world's top acoustic guitar player.

So birdstuckinchimney, indeed missing Eilen Jewell at Bluesfest will be a big regret for you.
Some Wellingtonians also missed her gig because it clashed with Womad.
