Thanks for the clarification Lone Ranger and Waffles. I was unaware of this incredible collaboration which we will never now get to see. They had great chemistry and you have whet my appetite for some more of Roy next year. I would like to see Peter play tributes to the fallen greats in between sets like they do every year at the Academy Awards. God knows we have lost some great ones. May you ride that storm forever now Ray.

This News Corporation sourced article provides a balanced viewpoint in regard to Ray's contribution to the music of the Doors,as it also displays the obvious effect of Morrison's death.

Yes I agree Greybeard it is a Fairfax article here.
Was it published in Au Fairfax papers ?
Offshore it appears in the London Times, one of the Rupert Murdoch papers.
As News Corp is based in New York,I assumed that was the origin.
But perhaps both News Corp and Fairfax purchased it from a contract writer rather than a staff writer.
Always interested in alternate theories.

thank you loneranger for the timely reminder about what a great showman Eric Sardinas. I remember with great fondness a previous set at bluesfest in his skin tight leopard print pants playing slide with a stubby he was drinking from and then setting his guitar neck on fire. Would love to see him back next year.
