Does anyone know if all the rain around Coff's has hit Byron? Bellongil could be a bit swampy before the Fest begins?!

Hi Luke

we live about 15 mins from Belongil and although we have not yet been flooded in, there has been over 5 inches of rain since Saturday. We are currently on floodwatch and are bracing for a very very wet next few days.

I suggest packing gumboots, given how squelchy it is underfoot.

Of course, we still have a week or so to go until Bluesfest so it may dry out soon

regards

JT

Good question Luke - can you keep us posted JT - might need the inflatable if the floods come...

Here's a 7 day forecast:
http://www.weather.com.au/nsw/byron-bay

It has a bit of rain predicted over the next few days, but it seems to get better on Wednesday (the day I arrive in Byron Bay).

I'm going to keep an eye on it, if the forecast looks worrying I'll throw in some gumboots and some kind of raincoat.

Also Belongil is on sand so it seems to drain quite well there if my memory serves me correctly

Cool. Well if the rain eases off earlyish next week and it drains well then hopefuly we'll be right. I have vague recollections of heavy rains and big swells in the week preceeding B/F maybe 2 years ago?

All the best for the coming few days Jaylee

Cheers

Luke

P.S. I always throw the Blunnies in my bag just in case!

I think the subsurface is a tea tree swamp (it's great when it's dry), so should be interesting to see how it copes with all the rain we have had and are about to get today...head back indoors! Here it comes again!

Break out them waterproof clothes I reckon!

1 week to go...see you all there!

I'm bringing an inflatable boat so I can row around the camp site and festival!
