santana - was brilliant
rodriguez - the sugarman was fantastic in jambalaya
robert plant - very spacey & psychadelic
paul simon - very energetic & fun
steve miller band - so many classic songs
status quo - had me rocking from start to finish
jimmy cliff - one of the best reggae sets i've ever seen
karise eden - the best female voice in australia
fred wesley - brought the funk, jazz & whatever else he wanted
wilco - first time i heard the band but thought they were fantastic

wasn't easy but these were my favourite sets off the top of my head... caught 34 sets in total.

My top acts in no order were - Steve Miller Band, Status Quo, Bettye Lavette, Russell Morris ( Lotus Palace was way too small a venue for what was a great gig), Robert Cray. And definitely Royal Southern Brotherhood and Santana.
Was good to hear Seth Lakeman, JD McPherson, Matt Anderson and enjoy the blues rockin musicianship of the Mason Rack Band. Playing for Change and the Music Maker Foundation were quality experiences.
Karise Eden needs to learn from Bettye Lavette and learn what a festival gig is all about. Did not connect. (by the way would love to see Betty mix it with Buddy Guy at his peak)
There are others I had seen in previous festivals so used the opportunity to see other acts. I felt overall the 2013 line up was not as strong or appealing as 2012 for my tastes which are very blues, blues rock leaning.

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.
