I agree with most posters probably the most polished performance I saw was Damien Dempsey in the Lotus Palace. When Dan Sultan came on stage it raised the show to another level, two solid professionals at work.
There were rumours that Paul Simon was checking out dempsey’s set.. I was one of the more reserved crowds of the festival everyone just sitting back and watching..

Paul Simon was a close second and Robert Plant 3rd.

Actually Robert Cray, Alan Tousaint and Jimmy Cliff were the three most polished acts

Joan Armatrading wasn't far behind.

I caught a lot of the very big name acts at the festival and loved them all, however for sheer polish and note perfect play my pick is the Royal Southern Brotherhood.

yes the drummer made his solo enjoyable, and having 3 lead vocalist made it easy to swap playing lead guitar.loved their set.

i thought status quo were very professional. little bit boring with the same chords over and over but entertaining and the crowd loved em.

kim churchill was outstanding.i havent seen him since his busking days, but what a shock.hes going up there fast.and loved his add-ons for the last song.

not sure about professional, but pat wilder(musicmaker foundation)was incredible.great guitarist and definately well named.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.
