Tonight's concert by Bruce is the best live music experience I've ever had- no question.
His performance of Tom Joad with Tom Morello brought tears to my eyes, along with almost everything else he played.
Bruce is the professor and a good guy and very giving of hs time clocking in at just over 3 hours.
Cannot wait for Sunday at Rod Laver.

When they go low-we go high.

It was the tribute on the Clarence Clemons during 10th Ave Freeze Out that brought tears to my eyes. Finally hearing The River live was amazing.
He is like a fine wine getting better with age, 63 & out to have a good rocking time. His crowd surfing during Hungry Heart was quite surreal, I was in GA on the floor & watching Bruce getting passed back to the stage above me.
I drove up & back to Canberra last night getting back at 2am & will fly to Melbourne for Rod Laver show tomorrow. Then fly back to Canberra Monday morning then hop straight into car & commence drive to Bluesfest.
Here is his setlist from last night & others http://www.backstreets.com/setlists.html

Dear Colinsd,
Can he possibly top that?
Just phenomenal.
I now regret not getting GA tickets for the crowd surfing.

bucetti,
Were you amongst those who needed to get their asses or arses off the seats?
How was the sound, it was a bit muddy down in the pit & seemed to get worse later. It may have been that it was so (very) loud & I was getting mix of stage & speaker sound.

I have never been disappointed with a Springsteen concert, I agree with the comments posted, it was a great way to spent over three hours. Great mix of his music and his cover versions were not out of place.

I went to the Wednesday night show and was very impressed. I was up high behind the stage and the sound and view was excellent. I was very happy with the amount of time Bruce spent acknowledging us behind him. The highlight for me was Tom Morello's work on The Ghost Of Tom Joad. Amazing stuff

Dear Colinsd,
Sound good.
I will confess that I was seated when the directive was issued.
Never sat down again.

LOVED both Bris shows. LOVED them.

But, seriously, Morello can go and take a long walk off a short pier. I was so disappointed to get him instead of Little Steven. If you think I'm being precious then you clearly understate how important that man is to the E-Street Band.

Agreed.

Morello does Morello, wherever and whenever - fretboard theatrics aside, he wasn't E-Street material for me. Nils was way cooler.

Like many other posters,I bought tickets for several shows hoping to see Little Stevie.Like many posters i was annoyed that he chose to pursue his d- grade mafia tv appearances rather than tour with the Band he's an integral part of.Having said that Lofgren was special and Morello is a more than capable stand in.

The day after the night befor...Bruce Almighty took me on a trip to the factory's and picket lines, down the rivers lined with Americas working class heros to the rust belt towns , he took me to church he took me to school exploring love and freedom along the way he brought me back to my hometown ... I have never felt so connected with the my adopted land of Australia as I did when 20,000 Aussies were singing Born in the USA it was truly Epic... All I can say is Thank you Bruce Springsteen and the East Street Band a special thank you to the newest east streeter The Night Watchman AKA Tom Morello for bringing the Rage. MEAN BOSS, MEAN..!

How's this for an encore last night!?!

Encore:
Born in the U.S.A.
Born to Run
Dancing in the Dark
Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out

My throat feels sore just thinking about screaming along to that run of songs...

Loved the Brisbane show I saw. Pretty much a perfect show, and the small GA area meant it was impossible to not have an amazing spot down there.
