First time to bluesfest. Camping 5 days. I could see no mention of power

to any campsites. Apart from not bringing any, whats the solution to charging

charging gadgets. Cheers. JB.

No power at camp sites, previously a local organisation (charity?) has run a mobile recharging stall for a small donation.

It was located inside the festival site.

I just purchased on of these and tried it out: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MB3598

Seems to do the job for the phone if there's plenty of sun during the day, not so good if it's cloudy.

Don't get me started on this, oh ohh, too late,,,
OK here we go then,,,

Ipads and some Iphones will not charge on ordinary USB ports unless
they are 2 amp ones, you can buy them but guess what???
Jaycar has sold out all over Australia because of demand and I was told
mid April at the earliest but I only went to the one store mind you,,,

Other than that, a twelve volt apple charger worked for us last year,
but this year we have gone all "Hi Tech" as youngbill knows,
and moved into solar panels with a 1200 watt pure sine wave invertor
just to charge up our stuff which we basically use every day,,,

Also, If you are with Virgin they will charge your phone for free apparently
plus give you a free Ice Cream (see virgin post)

Write a wise saying and your name will live on forever,,, Anonymous

In previous years I've used a combo of car chargers & using the charity charging stations to deal with dying phones, cameras etc.
This year I'm a little more prepared - bought a portable power supply which can charge USB devices (iPhone etc) - figure I can then leave it at the charity charging stall when needed to be recharged or charge it in car.
There are loads of the power packs online, but I grabbed this one from Dick Smith last weekend as didn't have time to wait for delivery as we kick off our roadtrip this weekend.

byron youth services are running a booth onsite at the festival where they will charge phones for a minimal fee.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

For those camping onsite, there have previously been washing machines available for those willing to wait in line. There are often a few who sneak powerboards into said area and charge their devices.

Additionally, the number of charging points seems to grow over the weekend as some stall holders wise up to the chance to make a bit of extra cash by charging devices.

Just thinking outside the square here....perhaps the best charger for your iPhone could be an iPhone charger. Call me crazy!

I just bought a Belkin car charger at JB HiFi... 2.1 amp and suits most mobiles and iPads.
