so today i called the bluesfest office as i was still wondering just where damien dempsey had been moved to from his set at midday on the sunday in crossroads which had been removed from the updated 2013 playing schedule...

according to the lady i spoke to at the bf office there is an additional stage about to be announced called the lotus palace stage which damien & i assume other performers will be playing... unfortunately damien dempsey is now on sunday night & i may not get to see his set :(

wonder if anyone else new will be added to the festival lineup...

BC1987 or Mr "87.

This is more of a reason to see his set! A touch of genius by the organisers....

Noble for PM.

will wait & see what time he gets on the sunday night before ruling him out :)

hopefully a couple other good names get second sets or maybe some other nice local & international names get added at the last minute... either way i'm happy to know damien dempsey is still on the festival :)

Tens of hundreds of laborious, regret filled hours of personal schedule calculations are now in jeopardy.
This is why I drink at Bluesfest

I just flicked through the Rhythms program and was wondering about this new stage!! a few little treats??

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

you can read a copy if you go to the bluesfest playing schedule page theres a link there.

seven stages! It's a new record! As well as
the longstanding stages MOJO, Crossroads,
Jambalaya, APRA, and The Busking Stage,
the intimate Cavanbah Stage will be back for
it's second year running. As well as these six
jam-packed venues we are proud to introduce
The Lotus Palace which will showcase special
nightly performances, and a few other little
treats still to be announced..... Its full schedule
will be released shortly via Bluesfest.com.au

i guess we will have to wait & see who besides damien dempsey is playing in the lotus palace :)

hopefully we do get some more intimate performances from some bigger artists... or maybe some previously unannounced performers who are at bluesfest for one night only...

once again i am excited to know who's playing bluesfest :)

As reported elsewhere, any appearance by Steven Seagull will be to film and praise the efforts of the sniffer dogs and their handlers for Seagull's new network shown International Lawman, the only rumour left is Chuck Norris his Deputy ?

One of the acts for the new stage will be CAN YOU BEAT A SNIFFER DOG?

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Why?
He's a talentless hack who can't act and musically certainly has no place alongside the multitude of fine artists gracing the stages at this year's festival.

On the plus side, if by some miracle he is on stage (I was going to say performing but that's pushing things too far) then at least I know where to avoid.

Glad I put my planning on hold after the first program change.

James T (ex Canned Heat) may be playing at Bluesfest. Friend saw him open for Bondi Cigars in Grafton & in talking to his friend in the audience was told he'd be at Bluesfest.

if i had to guess one name for the lotus palace... i would say michael franti in his only show here in australia.

would make sense as he was announced on the first lineup back in september but was removed... could be in the palace after paul simon finishes up on the monday.

if i could have a dream come true... dave matthews & tim reynolds in a fly in, fly out one night only acoustic show... i mean its not like the band is coming any time soon so i guess hope for the acoustic set instead...

just wish i didn't have a 5 day plan already done as anything good may have to be missed.

Helena once again attempts to be as witty as Maccain09 but as per usual fails to succeed.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.
