Great Documentary.
Featuring interviews with Dave Gonzales & Big Sandy.
Dave states that his inspiration to play rockabilly came from watching The Blasters.

a great bluesfest moment.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

I am expecting some more Rockabilly to be announced,
Hoping Cousin Harley or Mr Setlzer or even Eilen Jewel again.
I class Eilen's band as kind of rockabillyish. Is that a bit of a stretch????

Eilen has Rockabilly as one of her Genres as does Chris Isaak.
Though her latest CD is more subdued..more singer songwriter.
She is out touring again after having her baby.

Undoubtedly.
It was extremely unfortunate that due to an artist pulling out that Jeff Beck's set clashed with Imelda May's second set.

What an absolutely mind blowing lineup.
I need to retire ASAP and go see something like this before it is too late.

Well at least the Reverend is touring here in October.
I don't believe he has ever played N Z before.
Time to catch a couple of shows.

The Rockabilly Riot must come back to make up for the two songs without sound at the first appearance.
Five years coming up.

Need some dance music to get people out of their chairs.

The Steve Edmonds band does an excellent session of rockabilly covers. (he was featured in the Jimi Hendrix sessions last year.)
And the drummer in his band is exceptional.
