Hi,
Blue Beat in Sydney advises that there has NOT been a lot of calls from people wanting to go to the Sydney show - and of course buy tickets.
It would be a real pity that shows of this nature do not continue to tour due to lack of interest.
we would have thought REAL blues fans not coming to Byron would be lining up for this show
Please support the real blues artists such as these this is a 2 hour plus show featuribng truly great Siuthern blues artists - you just cannot find this sort of stuff too easily any more.
c'mon support the clubs who support The blues.

Got an Email from Ardie yesterday saying how they're looking forward to catching up with everyone "Down-under". They've made a lot of friends here in the REALLY deep South.

Please support these shows if you want them to tour.
this is one show ALL blues fans should support.
Venues are advising little contact from blues fans or ticket sales so far.

Tell your friends about these performances - let's create the ability for Music Maker to perform regularly in Australia

Agree that these types of shows need to be supported, but a bit hard on this one...

Announced relatively late with little promotion, they should be announced early!!!
Blue Beat in Double Bay (a bit remote from majority of Syd population), relative obscure venue compared to Basement, Vanguard, Notes etc.... little promotion
Some (lucky) people will see them in Bluesfest anyway
So many other choices in Syd that night incl:

Jimmy Cliff at Metro
Robert Plant at SEC
Mary Coughlan at Notes
Royal Southern Brotherhood at Basement
Matt Anderson at Brass Monkey

Not to mention all the other shows around that time means $$$$ that not everyone has....

I agree andrew8. There has been next to no promotion down here in Melbourne for the NSC gig. I happened to see it on the venues own advertisement in the Beat mag, in small print under upcoming gigs, yet nowhere else. The gig isn't even listed in the upcoming international tours page. I am hoping this will change in the coming weeks. I will be encouraging all my non bluesfest mates to go, and will ask my good friends on the PBS breakfast spread to plug the hell out of it closer to the date. I can’t bloody wait for some ironing board action!

Unfortunately I'm in another place on the 28th (BB)
Surely the festival's media friends could give them a little push along ?

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Problem is there is so much stuff coming through at the one time.
If I lived in Sydney, and wasn't going to Bluesfest, given the list of acts playing that night,I would go and see Robert Plant.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.
