Even though Ben is a standard BF act the thought of him with Charlie M is very, very exciting. The bits of the album I have heard suggest some scorching dirty blues.

Trumpet bells ringing
Bass drum is swinging
As the trombone groans
And the big horn moans

Simon will be performing at Bluesfest on Easter Monday but there is more! Festival goers are in for a double treat: Taking the stage before Paul Simon will be the hugely gifted Canadian singer/songwriter & composer Rufus Wainwright.

So said the Paul Simon announcement, but I see Rufus is now on Sunday, could Basement Fluids have heard the pleas of their NUMBER ONE supporter and made Ms Raitt co-headline with Paul?

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

very happy with this announcement... the standout has to be the music maker foundation shows which i will be hoping to get to on at least one night.

was also pleased to see manu chao taking the place of madness on the sunday night as i was dredding the thought of the clash on the friday night but all good now :)

other good things seem to be allen stone, gen chadwick, shaun kirk & zach brown band... hopefully i'll see at least one of them :)

another great announcement all part of a great festival lineup

musicmaker foundation in the past were on earlier in the day.which is great because they dont clash with bigger acts, and gives them more exposure.
hopefully they will be on earlier this easter. about 3-5 pm would be perfect bf scedulers.thanks

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

With the release of Playing Schedule /Stages/Times, I presume there are no further artists to be added.
I'm more than happy with the already announced acts & perusing the timetable, I am stoked with the scheduling.

Yes, but wouldn't it be good to be able to read ACROSS and see who is on in the various tents at any given time? (my annual rant).

At least Rhythms mag will get it right......

And while on my high horse - a smartphone app would not go astray, either!

Rant over. Love the lineup and the festival and these are very much First World Problems.

See all y'all at Byron!

Bad clashes are Robert Plant versus the Iggster, and Wilco versus Paul Simon.
Means I will have to catch sideshows of Robert Plant and Paul Simon.

Unless it's a typo or Paul is playing a really long set, maybe not too much of clash with Wilco as it has Paul playing at 8.15 & Wilco 10.15

Well spotted mgwfall.
That is weird.
Only six sets in Mojo on Monday.
Perhaps they want the tent emptied early for cleanup purposes.
So that only leaves Saturday as a bad clash.

My annual reply - I don't have a "smartphone" and I enjoy building my own spreadsheet timetable too much....

Let's do this again next year :-)

And it is. As I posted in the other related thread, this one is utterly gutting. I thought Black Crowes vs Patti Griffin Vs John Fogerty in 2008 was bad, but this one hurts worse... Don't think Sydney sideshows for either Iggy or Plant work for me as an option...
