Just watched the Stones on pay for view.Wanted to enjoy it more than I did.Cannot deny their energy however.Guests included Lady Gaga,John Mayer,The Black Keys,Gary Clarke Jnr and Bruce- who were all fantastic.

When they go low-we go high.

I do not think I would splash out big bucks to see that.

Don't get me wrong, The Rolling Stones are my favourite band of all time. They are pushing 70 (Charlie in his 70s now). It's amazing that they put in the performance that they do. I have seen them 3 times and loved it each time. The Stones can put on a performance night after night that many bands would be happy to once in their career. I just think it was a little flat yesterday. Maybe all the guests and the live telecast had them concentrating on not messing it up. They just seemed a little stiff. I did love the stripped back feel to the stage. Not as many bells & whistles as the past. I think they might be past the big arena shows like ANZ Stadium etc.

I think it is always hard to transfer the feeling of a live concert over TV or DVD. I've unfortunately not caught the Stones live (I hope to have a chance before they call it quits), but I imagine it would still be a spectacle and an exhilarating experience to be a part of the crowd. If I had to choose between seeing the Stones as they are now or not at all (and that basically is my choice), then I would see them without hesitation.

Dear ScottM,
There is every chance the Stones will tour here.I do recommend them to you, given that you've never seen them live.I have seen them several times and I just think my expectations are way too high.
You will no doubt enjoy them.

When they go low-we go high.
