Very sad news - I saw him at the State in Sydney a lot of years back and it was an evening of incredible virtuosity ...

This is terribly sad news. I saw him in Melbourne in 197? and for the first time I really understood the essence of communication in music, which is something that can never be forgotten. RIP old master.

Ravi Shankar sparked an interest for me in all things Indian.Especially the music.India will always remain my fav o'seas destination.
