Do you all think the timetable will come out earlier this year?
I wanna start getting my head around some of the inevitable clashes
Santana and Steve Miller band is the major one worrying me I hope they don't!!

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

My thoughts exactly.
Soon as I saw the daily schedule I got concerned about a Steve miller,Santana clash.
Sometimes I feel like a spoiled brat complaining that I have been given so much that I can't decide.
Some artists are not getting any younger & that could be said for some of us punters as well so we may not get the chance to see them again.
Fingers crossed for a reltively clash free fest as was the case for me the last couple of years.

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
Vodka, plastic pop-off, twist one off
Yesterday I smoked, today I don't
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I thought cOKebloke gave up on those time tables when the train kept him waiting at the Rails for dazes.

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Scheduling for BF can be quite stressful. I try to apply some general rules when prioritising, eg artists only playing once, artists I've not seen before, artists I HAVE seen before but can't miss etc etc.

Then there are logistical issues like how early I can get to BF on any given day, how late I'm prepared to stay, whether I want to brave the barrier crowd or lurk at the back, full set vs part set and so on.

Often my plan goes out the window for various reasons, but I've never not had a good time. Alas, you can't see everybody, but you can give it your best shot! Roll on March....

depending on your finances etc , I reckon seeing Santana and steve miller band sideshow would be the go....I am seeing Robert plant, bettye lavette, wanda Jackson sideshows in case the bluesfest component doesn't quite satisfy(with clashes etc)....and definitely a paul simon sideshow IF he does any!..saw mr simon back In the day at the Adelaide grand prix.....bloody AMAZING!!!!

I would much rather have the timetable released as late as possible. The closer it is to BF, the less time there is to stew over which artists I will have to miss. And with the last minute changes that always seem to occur, I would hate to have my plans all set out and then thrown into disarray by even the smallest of changes.

every year i spend about 3 & a half weeks working out how to try & see everyone i can & usually end up with around 30 to 35 artists i will see.

i attend from gates open to gates closed so i see as much as i can... however sometimes it isn't possible as with the 2012 timetable there were a lot of crossovers with sets which meant i missed a couple i wanted to see.

the big clash for me which i hope isn't going to happen is the robert plant & iggy & stooges situation on saturday night... i really want to see both but if i have to choose it won't be easy...

for 2013 i am taking the approach of seeing as many new artists & artists i haven't seen before... with the exceptions of santana & tedeschi trucks of course.

lets hope for a clash free timetable when it comes.

the big clash this year was kenny wayne shephard and john fogerty.on at the same time--twice.

i opted to see fogerty on the monday at 6.00. so saw kws on sat.night in jambalaya with about 200 others.i couldnt believe it.joanna shaw taylor before him.there was so much room,a group of 5 or 6 danced maybe 20 metres from the stage passing huge joints between them.sit where ever you like. and this to see an artist ive waited 5 years to see again.
the only downside was i thought kws deserved more.

its all in the planning.

i love jambalaya.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Brian Setzer was placed before John Fogerty to ensure that he got the respect he deserves and exposure to those who may not know him.
Iggy and the Stooges may well play before Robert Plant as a mirror.
At BDO,Iggy played before the White Stripes for the same reason.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

The rails is a place i never mind waiting . . .as long as the bar is open.
I'm lucky enough to pick a place to stay that is a little out of town with a shuttle service that drops me off just near the car park @ the rails pub.
Gives me the chance to have a "cheap" (in comparison to bf)drink while i wait for the bus que to thin down.

I vote for a golf buggy hire tent to enable quick travel from tent to tent in case there are major clashes. ;)

Just about to buy Santana/Steve Miller tickets to save any clash heartache.

When they go low-we go high.

I hope they are back to back.
Aquamarine , omo como va & because it's Bluesfest Lightnin' or Mudbone from Havanna Moon would keep me happy.
As for if they clashed, I would probably see Steve Miller, as I have never seen him before & really like his recent albums, where Santana I have seen, he visits regularly & i personally haven't enjoyed his recent albums though would would be a bigger Santana fan

Actually can't believe you already want to sort out your time tables. I usually do mine 1st day having an idea of who I want to see & am flexible with certain artists where others will be set in stone. You will always hear of new discoveries & need to adjust. I also have some nights where I will cruise around & watch short half sets

The three friends I go with don't even check out who is even attending until the 1st day. We all go our separate ways once inside & meet at end of night.
