Hi all,
This is my first BluesFest and I am very excited to say the least!
I was considering bringing a beach shelter along to put up the back somewhere during the day (we are not camping on site) and making a base to store bags etc
Can anyone advise whether this is possible, ie space wise and also whether the organisers allow it?
Thanks!
Jo

Wouldn't really be worth it - the only places you could set up would be largely out of the viewing lines to the stages (given that the 4 largest stages are under a tent). There is a cloak facility that would probably serve you better, and afford your bags a higher level of protection than just leaving them in the middle of the site under a beach tent.

Thanks Scott, the intention was also to have a place to have a little rest during the day. But thanks so much for the tip about the cloak room!

Getting a little rest in afternoon is a good idea.
You will find that when the gates open only a small crowd is waiting, it builds slowly during the afternoon. usually there is vacant spaces in the quieter tents for a lay down in shade till perhaps 5pm, and then the shelter isn't of much benefit .

If you'r still keen to take the shelter ask whilst signed in

I'd say the question isn't "Are you allowed?", but rather "Why would you bother?"

I can't see why you would need to have enough gear to encumber you to warrant using a sun shelter. When/if it rains what do you do with it? After dark what do you do with it? If you're going to cloak it then why bother in the first place?
