Robert Plant will play additional shows around Australia in addition to his Bluesfest headline spot.

the tour billed as Robert Plant Presents Sensational Space Shifters will play in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Launceston.

According to Chugg Entertainment “the Sensational Space Shifters are his latest project, a loose band “inspired by the roots music of Mississippi, Appalachia, Gambia, Bristol and the foothills of Wolverhampton and drawing on influences collected in a lifetime of meander and journeying.” Along-side Robert are his semi-regular guitarist Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara from Gambia, Justin’s Ritti – playing partner in their duo Juju.

Plant fans should watch Dave Letterman’s show on Monday. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, will be interviewed by Letterman.

The Sensational Space Shifters are:

Robert Plant – vocals, harmonica
Juldeh Camara – ritti (one-stringed African Violin), kologo (African Banjo), talking drum, vocals.
Justin Adams – guitar, bendir, vocals
John Baggott – keyboards
Liam “Skin” Tyson – guitar, vocals
Dave Smith – drums and percussion
Billy Fuller – bass guitar, vocals

Tickets will go on sale on December 10.

Dates are:

March 26, Adelaide, Entertainment Centre
March 28, Sydney, Entertainment Centre
April 3, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
April 5, Launceston, Silverdome

That will bring a big crowd of Queenslanders to Bluesfest as Brisbane misses out [again].
I predict a very crowded tent.
It will be a great set.

I am starting to watch the clips on the front of the website.
The Robert Plant clip is with the Band of Joy,not his current band,Sensational Space Shifters.
