Outstanding line up. Looking forward to the Beards, Snowdroppers, Sasquatch and The Haight/Asbury Review. Never seen Fat Freddy's but I have a live CD of theirs and it grooves. And finally, really looking forward to the return of The Beasts Of Bourbon with their original lineup, Kim Salmon et al.

Can it get any better?????

And of course, who can argue with the praise heaped on Hat Fitz & Cara....looking forward to that combo as well!

Great to see the fest being fair dinkum with the aussies. I don’t listen to much Kiwi stuff, most of it seems to be the dub music popular with the young dopers with the stubble and the loose tee shirts. I personally wouldn’t mind a classier twist like John Williamson singing True Blue and Waltzing Matilda etc. I was listening to Alan Jones the other day and he had a segment on overseas cab drivers listening to foreign radio stations and not changing to aussie stations for patrons, although I agree in regards to some segments speaking in non-Australian - I was lucky enough to be driven by a lad from the ivory coast and we shared a conversation about Alpha Blondy.. Regardless I say more aussie tunes - An obvious choice that hasn’t made their way into the fest is of course Kingtide? Can someone shed some light, did they have a blue with the director or something? I believe they are the premium aussie act in their genre and the festival would propel them into another stratosphere if they were given or chose to take their shot at bluesfest 2012.

Fat Freddy's played before Crowded House at Bluesfest a few years back. I've never seen so many people dancing at BF before or after. The vibe in the tent was amazing. I saw them at Splendour later that year and they were great then too but not the same feeling in the air that night. I'm really looking forward to seeing them again at Bluesfest. They are not to be missed.

Yeah, they sure lifted the roof off Mojo that night!
Saw them a few nights ago in Coolangatta and can't wait to see them again.

I emailed the Karise Eden link to my wife who watches all those TV music & dance shows.
She was very impressed that bluesfest had booked her,and mentioned that she was the winner of the show.
She asked me if I was going to see her.

After listening to Alan Jones this morning i felt like ringing in and asking why the radio stations dont play more traditional Aussie music like they do in other countries, Would love to see the Legaurd twins or Ludwig Leichardt I don't have a clue why either of these blokes haven't been given a fair dinkum go. Two true Aussie Patriots!

Welcome Back Lil Fi - it's been a very long time but great to have you back on the bill.

Have enjoyed the Haight Ashbury show at Sphinx Rock Cafe (greatplace for a Sunday afternoon if you're in the neighbourhood)

Which other countries play traditional Aussie music? Albania, Turkey, Mongolia maybe. I'm sure that the parrot can help you out with his expansive knowledge of the World.
